How Talent Tasker Works
Talent Tasker has two contract types and one payment guarantee. Fixed-price work is funded into escrow per milestone, and hourly work is billed weekly from timesheets the client approves. Here is how hiring and freelancing work from the first job post to the final payment.
For clients: post, review, fund, approve
- 01.
Post Your Job
Define scope, skills, budget range, and timeline. Choose fixed-price or hourly. Get proposals from vetted freelancers within hours.
- 02.
Review & Hire
Compare proposals side by side. Check portfolios, ratings, and milestone breakdowns. Interview your top picks, then send a contract.
- 03.
Fund & Track
Fund milestones into escrow. Track deliverables with checklists, monitor hours with timesheets, and communicate in-app.
- 04.
Approve & Pay
Review completed work, approve milestones or timesheets, and release payment. Rate your experience when the contract closes.
For freelancers: profile, find work, propose, get paid
- 01.
Build your profile
Add your skills, rate and portfolio. A complete profile is what puts you in front of clients searching your speciality.
- 02.
Find matching projects
Browse projects filtered to your skills, or get recommendations based on the work you have already delivered.
- 03.
Send a proposal
Pitch with your terms, milestones and timeline. Track every proposal from submitted through to accepted in one place.
- 04.
Deliver and get paid
Submit milestone work or log hours on a timesheet. Escrowed funds are released as soon as the client approves.
How escrow milestones work
Fixed-price contracts are split into milestones, each with its own deliverable and amount. Before a milestone starts, the client funds it into escrow, so the freelancer can see the money is secured before doing the work.
When the freelancer submits the milestone, the client reviews it and either approves it or requests changes. Approving releases the escrowed funds to the freelancer. Funds are never released for work the client has not approved.
How hourly contracts and timesheets work
Hourly contracts suit ongoing or open-ended work. The freelancer logs their hours on a weekly timesheet, describing what each block of time was spent on.
At the end of each week the client reviews the timesheet. Approved hours are billed and paid to the freelancer, so the client only ever pays for time they have seen and signed off.
What happens in a dispute
If the client and freelancer cannot agree on a milestone or timesheet, either side can raise a dispute. The funds in question stay in escrow while it is open, so neither party can walk away with the money.
Our mediation team reviews the contract terms, milestones, submitted work and messages, then helps both sides reach a fair resolution.
Common questions
What is the difference between a fixed-price and an hourly contract?
Fixed-price contracts are milestone-based, where payments are agreed and funded upfront. Hourly contracts are billed weekly based on logged hours and timesheets approved by the client.
How much does Talent Tasker cost?
Signing up and posting jobs is free. Clients pay a small service fee on payments made, and freelancers pay a service fee on their earnings.
What happens if there is a dispute?
If a dispute occurs, milestone funds are held in escrow, and our dedicated mediation team reviews the project records to help both parties reach a fair resolution.
How quickly do freelancers get paid?
Once the client approves a milestone or weekly timesheet, the funds in escrow are released instantly to the freelancer.
Can I hire multiple freelancers for one project?
Yes. You can hire multiple freelancers under separate fixed-price milestones or hourly contracts to work on different parts of the same project.
Which payment methods can clients use?
We support major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), bank wire transfers, and popular online payment gateways.
How do ratings and reviews work?
